Pregnant and value your health?! This one is for you. It's an encouraging undertone to something you might be worrying about, or have in the back of your mind... It has to do with your mental health.

 

The newborn stage is a vulnerable time for our mental health, for a whole CLUSTER of reasons. We are recovering from birth, everything is new, our hormones are changing daily, we may be encountering unexpected challenges, and we may have a history of poor mental health that makes us more vulnerable. Plus, there may be stressors in our outside environment that may impact us. Our regular routines and coping strategies might be out the window, or at least a little different for a little while.

BUT hear me when I say - hope is not lost!

This does NOT have to be a time to suffer or get through. And there are things that we can ALL do to proactively prepare for this time.

Boost your mental health. In pregnancy. (or earlier!). Learn strategies that will set you up to feel more empowered and confident to navigate the newborn period, and your emotions within it. Build your emotional resilience. And invite in some fun along the way!!
